the maestas project is an art project designed to collect stories of those named maestas and mestas. the focus of this art project is to capture our stories, not dispute facts. facts from our past eventually fade into the stories we tell ourselves and others. the maestas project seeks to collect those stories and perspectives.

each of us has a beautiful and unique mixture of pride, generational trauma, abuse, hope, ambition, contentment, acceptance, self-image issues, vice abuse, cognitive dissonance, and a patchwork of other factors that make us who we are. the maestas project seeks to see you and your beautifully unique mixture.
